Reliance Jio has become the arguable king of the telecom world. And in order to dethrone it, telecom operators Airtel, Vodafone and Idea seem to have a plan.

According to a report by Trak.in, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea could soon collaborate to form a new company altogether with an aim to generate more profits and revenue by March 2019.

An anonymous top official from Airtel said, “We will be delighted to share and create one company. We have already built a lot of fibre with Vodafone Idea and over the past two years, a lot of sharing has happened between the two companies.”

However, the new collaboration could deal in infrastructure and towers and might focus on the optical fibre segment, which could prove beneficial given that the era of 5G is to begin.

However, there is nothing official by either Airtel or Vodafone-Idea.

To recall, quite recently Vodafone and Idea merged to form a single company.

While there is nothing concrete available and we need to take the above-mentioned information with a piece of salt, the merger could prove to be a good idea and result in better offers for consumers.

We still need to wait for the official word. Therefore, stay tuned for updates!
